Condensate Drains

The cheapest drain to buy is not necessarily the least expensive to own. Stop wasting compressed air with every timed cycle.

The True Cost of Drains

Your Drain Is Costing You More Than You Think

Compressed air is one of the most expensive utilities in any manufacturing or engineering environment. A timed drain opens, whether there's condensate present or not! If there's little or no condensate present, a timed drain is an expensive timed leak.

Because condensate production varies enormously with ambient temperature, humidity and compressor loading, timed drains must be set conservatively, meaning they almost always waste significant quantities of air on every cycle.

An electronic zero-loss drain uses level-sensing technology to open only when condensate is actually present. The higher upfront cost is typically recovered very quickly through reduced compressed air waste.

Rule of thumb

On a system running 16 hours a day, 5 days a week, switching from a timed to a zero-loss drain can save hundreds of pounds per drain point per year in compressed air costs alone.

50%
of a timed drain's discharge can be wasted air
0%
air wasted with a zero-loss drain
Condensate production varies

A compressor generating 10 litres of condensate per hour on a cold winter morning may produce 40+ litres per hour on a humid summer afternoon. A timed drain set for the worst case wastes vast quantities of air at all other times.

Drain Range

Choose the Right Drain

ZL5000
Electronic Zero-Loss Drain — up to 5,000 cfm

The flagship zero-loss drain for large compressed air systems. Level-sensing technology ensures the valve only opens when condensate is present: zero compressed air wasted.

  • Electronic level-sensing. No air wasted on discharge
  • Suitable for separators, receivers, dryers and filters
  • Alarm output for blocked or failed drain indication
  • Covers systems up to 5,000 cfm

ZL1300
Electronic Zero-Loss Drain — up to 1,300 cfm
ZL1300 zero-loss drain

The mid-range zero-loss drain, ideal for smaller compressors and individual drain points on filters and dryers. Same proven level-sensing technology as the ZL5000.

  • Electronic level-sensing. No wasted air
  • Compact design. Fits most drain point locations
  • Robust and reliable option for medium sized installations
  • Covers systems up to 1,300 cfm

AD950T Hybrid
Intelligent Moisture-Sensing Drain with Timed Override
AD950T hybrid drain

The intelligent middle ground: a moisture-sensing drain that opens on demand, with a timed override to ensure regular purging even if the sensor detects no condensate build-up.

  • Capacitive moisture sensor detects condensate presence
  • Timed override prevents condensate accumulation
  • Significantly reduces wasted air vs. timer-only models
  • Cost-effective hybrid solution

TD15 A/B
Timer-Controlled Solenoid Drain
TD15A timer-controlled drain

A reliable, cost-effective timer-controlled solenoid drain for applications where budget constraints or system type make a zero-loss drain impractical. Simple to set up and maintain.

  • Adjustable cycle frequency and duration
  • TD15A has one-piece BVS; TD15B has separate BVS for flexible installation
  • Simple installation and low capital cost
  • Ideal for systems where their inherent air-loss is less important

CS402 & CS20B
Mechanical Float-Operated Drains
CS20B mechanical float drain

Mechanical float drains for applications where no electrical supply is available or appropriate. Operate automatically as condensate accumulates: no air wasted, no power required.

  • No electrical supply needed
  • Automatic operation via float mechanism
  • Simple, robust construction
  • Suitable for remote or hazardous locations

EMD Range
Electronic Motorised Drain — 12 to 150 cfm

The EMD range of electronic motorised drains covers smaller compressor outputs where a full zero-loss system may not be cost-justified, while still offering improved control over a simple timer.

  • Models: EMD12, EMD25, EMD75, EMD150
  • Adjustable open time and cycle frequency
  • Compact, easy to install
  • Suitable for small compressors and filter housings
